When he was 18 Brian enlisted into the U.S. Army just like his father. He was assigned to the 504th Infantry Regiment part of the 82nd Airborne Division. Being stationed at Fort Bragg for his first two years he found it uneventful so he volunteered to become a Army Ranger.
During a rigorous Hike he stumbled upon a Ranger candidate who had injured himself after falling down a rocky slope he carried the injured candidate to a nearby instructor. The instructor commended Lennox for not leaving him behind to go find help. After completing training he became a Ranger assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.
After four year of service in the Rangers he volunteered to become a Green Beret. When he passed the excruciating training he was assigned to the Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Force Group serving a Special Forces Weapons Sergeant for ODA 564.
